AION 2 Brawler: Gauntlets, Rage and Whether Global Gets It

Brawler is the ninth class, and it fights with gauntlets.

The core is a resource loop. Basic attacks and active skills build Rage. Fill it and you enter Rampage, which swaps in a different skill set. The role is front-line combos and charges, with push and pull control.

It went live on July 1, 2026 with Chapter 1 in Korea and Taiwan. NC has never put it on the global launch roster.

What Brawler is

NC’s press release is fairly specific:

  • Exclusive weapon: gauntlets
  • Role: front-line attacks and combo-based charges
  • Resource loop: basic attacks and active skills generate Rage; a full gauge triggers Rampage
  • Sweetener: to mark the new class, NC granted every player one free character slot

It arrived with Chapter 1, “Lands of Sand and Snow”. That patch also raised the level cap from 45 to 50, raised the Stigma cap to 25, and added the Morheim (Asmodian) and Eltnen (Elyos) regions.

Why Rage and Rampage make it different

Start with the other launch melee classes.

Templar is a main tank built on blocking and threat. Gladiator is an off-tank that trades durability for damage. Both are paced by their skill rotation. When to pop mitigation, when to dump burst - you can largely follow a script.

Brawler is not. It turns resource building and state switching into the combat rhythm itself. You spend one set of skills to build Rage, then spend the Rampage window to actually deal damage. The output window is manufactured, not waited for.

Two consequences. The rhythm feels better, and many players will prefer it. But it is less forgiving on timing - break the sequence and your damage simply falls off.

Whether global gets it

This is the part that needs care.

NC has never confirmed it. As of September 18, 2026 there is no published global class roster. Neither the Steam store page nor the official global teaser site has a class section. What NC confirmed in the Steam pre-release FAQ is platforms, languages, server regions and monetization - with no promise that the Asia build’s content carries over.

Creator testing says it is absent. A creator with over a thousand hours on the Korea and Taiwan service puts it plainly: “AION 2 currently has nine classes and eight of them, all except the Brawler, will be playable at global launch.” Another long-term player excludes it from the global roster in his class guide.

So the accurate formulation is: Brawler is live in Korea and Taiwan. Whether global launch includes it is unconfirmed, and creator testing leans towards no. The page will update the moment NC publishes a roster.

One naming note: before release it was teased as “Fistmaster”, with the Korean name 권성. Both refer to the same class.

If you want a front-line class now

Three routes.

  1. Start with Templar or Gladiator. Want “always needed, never short of invites”? Take Templar. Want “can tank and can hit, leans damage”? Take Gladiator. Both are certain to be on the launch roster.
  2. If it has to be Brawler, protect a character slot. Rerolling here is not cheap. It means a new character and a fresh levelling run, and deleting an old character does not free the slot instantly. So “level one now, switch when it ships” is a plan with a real cost, not a throwaway line.
  3. Treat the Asia service as an information source, not a reason to spend. Brawler is already live there and the balance changes are public. Watching how it gets patched for a few months beats committing to a reroll before launch.

The full roster and other choices are on the class list. What front-line classes do in dungeons is on dungeons and PvE.
